At CES 2014 you could have seen Bosch autonomous automobiles being tested. A cardboard little boy would cross in in front of the car and it would stop. Alas we have driven a long way in a short time. Bosch and Tom Tom now have a nice collaboration going because after all mapping is essential and Tesla announced the long awaited upgrade that includes “Autopilot” which touts “a forward radar, a forward-looking camera, 12 long-range ultrasonic sensors positioned to sense 16 feet around the car in every direction at all speeds, and a high-precision digitally-controlled electric assist braking system.” Drive me to CES!
